Plant Up: Planting the Seeds

Some projects arrive at exactly the right time. Plant Up is one of those.

I’ve recently started working with Kate and Mary, the brilliant duo behind PlantUp. A community-led, green-minded project rooted in care, creativity and action. They’ve been working on projects together for years, and it shows. There’s a shared vision, a deep understanding of place, and a real commitment to making things better. Not just nicer.

Right now, we’re in the early stages of the project. I’ve been brought on to create the website and marketing materials, but before going all in, we’ve taken a smart first step: a microsite.

The aim was simple. Give Plant Up a web presence so they can hit the ground running. A place that clearly explains who they are, what they do, and why it matters. A stake in the ground that allows them to start conversations, share ideas, and put themselves forward for upcoming projects while we continue to build the full brand.

You can see the microsite here.

Behind the scenes, I’ve loved researching this one. Digging into the history of community-led green movements, including the incredible work of the Green Guerrillas, has been both inspiring and grounding. It’s reminded me how powerful small actions can be when they’re rooted in collective care, creativity and place.

Plant Up sits firmly in that space. It’s about reimagining how we use land, how communities come together, and how green spaces can be protected, activated and shared. There’s purpose here, and a lot of potential.

For now, the microsite gives PlantUp a clear, confident starting point. Next, we’ll be developing the brand and expanding the website to support future projects, partnerships and growth.

This feels like the beginning of something really special and I’m excited to share more as it unfolds.

More soon, Sharon.
